Neighbors as Family (NAF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in La Jolla, California. This page explains what this website collects, who sees it, and what we do with it.

When you share your story

The story form asks for your name, email, phone number, whether texting is OK, how you like to be contacted, your story, and any photos you add. It goes by email to Barbara Burton, NAF's founder. BeyondVivid, the company that runs this website for NAF, gets a copy so it knows if the form ever breaks. Nothing you send is stored on this website.

Your story stays confidential. If we would like to use it in a publication or outreach program, we contact you and ask first. We never sell or trade your details.

When you give

The Donate button opens a secure payment page run by GoDaddy Payments. You enter your card there, not on this website, so NAF never sees your card number. GoDaddy Payments sends NAF a record of your gift with your name and any note you add. NAF uses it to thank you and for its tax records. NAF's EIN is 99-4436350.

Cookies and analytics

With your OK, the site uses Google Analytics (through Google Tag Manager) to see which parts of the page help people. Until you choose, Google gets only cookieless signals with no identifiers. If you say no, Google still gets those cookieless signals, with no identifiers. Advertising cookies stay off unless you turn them on. You can change your choice any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.

The launch video comes from Vimeo and loads only when you press play. We ask Vimeo not to track you.

To see, change, or remove your story

Send a note through the contact form on Barbara Burton's author website. We will remove your story and will not use it.

Children

This website is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their details.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes too. Return to the home page or share your story.
